When it comes to the food chain there are many ways it can go were even the bugs can be at the top of the food chain just depending on how you look at it this is just one of many examples
plants
plants use the sun in a process called photo synthesis to create food
insects
insects then eat the plants for food.
mole
the mole and other animals eat the insects and bugs for food
owl
the owl then eats the mole and other animals that have eaten the bugs witch have eaten the plants witch allows the owl to gain more energy all starting with one plant.
